The theme this year was SMART CITIES! Due to trends in growth of the population density, global forecasts foreseen nearly triple the global urban land area in 2030. The survival of our species on planet earth is largely going to be determined by what happens in our cities. Therefore, cities have been put towards sustainable energy challenges in all different aspects named “Smart cities”. Smart cities contain a comprehensive concept, but consist out of several different aspects such as: Urban Design, Community Governance, Building & Infrastructure, Transportation, Waste Management, Business & Economic Development, Food Management, Water Management and Energy Management.

The exchange took place from 3nd until the 15th of May 2015 and it was quite an intense experience for the CME students.
